Facility Supervisor/Lifeguard
Activity Supervisor*
Greets all visitors. Enforces regulations regarding identification. Handles equipment checkout. Sets up and takes down equipment. Assigns courts from reservations and walk-ins. Monitors all areas of the facilities for usage, participant behavior and security. Enforces regulations concerning facility use. Provides information to patrons. Performs custodial duties and maintenance. Responds to emergencies. Assists the Building Coordinator and professional staff. Adult CPR with AED and First Aid certification required upon employment.
Field/Tennis Supervisor*
Monitors use of field/tennis complexes. Enforces regulations regarding identification. Handles equipment checkout. Supervises special events. Sets up and takes down equipment. Assigns courts from online reservation system and walk-ins. Monitors all areas of the facilities for usage, participant behavior and security. Enforces regulations regarding facility use. Provides information to patrons. Performs custodial duties and maintenance. Responds to emergencies. Assists the Building Coordinator and professional staff. Adult CPR with AED and First Aid certification required upon employment.
Lifeguard*
Supervises the use of swimming pools for various programs. Maintains a high skill level in swimming, approaches, carries, resuscitations, assists and victim removals. Enforces specific pool and safety rules. Maintains proper positioning and supervises swimmers at all times. Tracks participation records. Maintains a strict alertness to the pool as well as each participant’s swimming ability. Assists the head lifeguard or building coordinator as needed. Lifeguard shifts are available at Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex. All lifeguard applicants must possess a valid Lifeguard Training/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications preferably from the American Red Cross®. Other acceptable forms include: Ellis & Associates® or YMCA® but must transfer over to American Red Cross® within one year of employment. Certifications may not expire during the applicable semester. Employees must attend mandatory in-service training sessions. Skills checks and 300 yard swim required prior to interview.

Intramural/Official
Intramural Official*
Officiates one of several team sports including flag football, volleyball, soccer (indoor and outdoor), basketball and softball. Previous playing experience is preferred and attendance at training clinics is mandatory. Games are scheduled Sundays from 1 p.m. until late night and weekdays from 5 p.m. until late night at Gregory Gym, the Recreational Sports Center or Whitaker Fields. You may schedule games around classes and other jobs.
Intramural Supervisor*
Assists with the administration of the Intramural Sports Program, setting up for games, assigning and evaluating officials, responding to injuries, handling protests, and enforcing intramural policies and procedures. Additionally, takes entries, creates brackets and schedules, prepares scorecards, records scores and performs office assignments as instructed. Must be proficient at officiating at least one sport and is required to learn at least two other sports. Adult CPR with AED and First Aid certification required upon employment.

Fitness/Wellness
TeXercise (Group Exercise) Instructor
Teaches and supervises classes including fitness, cycling mind/body, and/or aqua classes. Experienced, certified instructors are preferred, but not required.
Information about spring auditions is available in mid-March in the Programs Office in Gregory Gym. An Instructor Training Series is offered each spring for those interested in becoming an instructor but do
not have formal training. When applying, please specify which area or areas you are interested in teaching.
Certified Personal Trainer
Must be certified by a national fitness organization. Works with a variety of clientele. Certified Personal Trainers have the flexibility to set their own schedule but must attend necessary staff meetings and other events as communicated.
Personal Fitness Instructor (PFI)
These are students who are in the process of attaining their national fitness certification. Submit an application and schedule an interview with the PFI Coordinator. PFIs get hands-on experience training clients (with basic fitness goals) while in the process of getting nationally certified.
Fitness/Wellness Supervisor*
Duties include equipment maintenance/cleaning, data entry and filing, daily operations of massage service and other Fitness/Wellness areas including the washing and drying of sheets, transporting of equipment/supplies to various programming areas and assisting with special events as needed.
Instructional Program Instructor
Teaches non-credit classes for the Instructional Program in the areas of sports, mind/body, dance, martial arts and aquatics. Instructors should possess expertise in the activity being taught and should have good communication skills. Teaching/instruction experience is preferred.

Outdoor Recreation/Climbing Wall
Outdoor Equipment Manager*
Manages daily operations of the Outdoor Center. Maintains, cleans and repairs outdoor equipment including stoves, lanterns, sleeping bags, backpacks and other outdoor gear. Handles cash, takes reservations and completes equipment rental contracts. Drives and maintains University vehicles (driving is a non-essential function). Keeps accurate inventory records of equipment use and repair. Provides information to participants regarding local outdoor opportunities. Equipment knowledge and cash handling experience is preferred.
Safety Education Instructor
Conducts American Red Cross® certification classes. Applicants must have current ARC Instructor level certification and possess good leadership and communication skills.
Climbing Wall Instructor
Teaches a variety of climbing classes and workshops. Instructors should be experienced climbers with good group leadership and communication skills.
Climbing Wall Supervisor*
Supervises the daily operations of the Gregory Gym Climbing Wall including open climbing, classes and special events. Verifies participant eligibility, checks out climbing gear, enforces all policies and procedures, maintains records and answers general questions, and sets and maintains routes. Previous climbing experience is preferred.
Outdoor Guide
Plans and leads trips for a diverse group of outdoor participants. Drives a University vehicle to and from the trip site. Teaches outdoor skills and safety practices. Must possess the ability to provide an educational and fun outdoor experience for trip participants. Individuals must possess expertise in one or more areas of outdoor recreation and education including backpacking, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, caving and hiking. Qualified, experienced guides with good group leadership and communication skills are hired for trips throughout the fall, spring and summer. Completion of Adult CPR and Wilderness First Aid is required. This position requires a valid Texas driver's license and a motor vehicle report from the Department of Public Safety. Applicants hired must maintain an acceptable driving record and complete a two-hour defensive driving course.

Cashier
Cashier*
Processes over-the-counter, mail-in and online membership and program sales on a Macintosh computer using FileMaker Pro. Maintains cash drawer. Reconciles the Daily Cash Report. Upholds the university's and Division's cash handling procedures. Performs other routine clerical duties as assigned.

Office/Clerical
Facility Office - Clerical*
Assists faculty/staff, students and visitors at the counter. Answers questions about facilities, memberships, guest services and facility reservations. Conducts facility tours. Performs data entry of membership sales, using FileMaker Pro software. Performs daily functions essential to the office such as typing correspondence, data entry, filing, answering multi-line telephone, distributing mail and assisting full-time staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Programs Office - Clerical*
Assists patrons at the counter and over the phone by answering questions pertaining to various programs and services offered. Performs daily clerical functions, including but not limited to, data entry, filing, mail distribution, answering multi-line phones, registering participants, composing correspondence, and assisting professional staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience with Excel and FileMaker Pro software is preferred.
Clerical Assistant - Business*
Serves as a receptionist for the Business Services office including greeting visitors and answering the phone, processes new employee and driver paperwork, performs opening and closing procedures, performs research and database maintenance, performs a variety of clerical tasks as requested, serves in a backup capacity for the runner and cashier, and performs other tasks as assigned.
Clerical Assistant - Accounting*
Processes accounts payables and receivables, processes customer refunds, updates database, serves as the cashier as needed, performs other tasks as assigned.
Clerical Assistant - Human Resources*
Processes appointments and performs database maintenance. Logs in applications and updates data files. Merges and mails out regret letters. Processes new employee paperwork and updates database. Assists HR Coordinator. Performs various clerical tasks such as preparing letters, filing, assembling manuals, making copies, and updating documents. Serves as the backup receptionist and/or runner as needed. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Graphic Design Production Assistant*
Designs print and web promotions including ads, flyers, signs, T-shirts and other materials using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CS3. Prepares files for vendors. Preforms other related duties as assigned. Work in a Mac based environment.
Runner*
Drives university vehicle to deliver and pick up items for the Division. Runs other errands for the Division and performs other duties as assigned. Requires a valid Texas driver’s license and requires a motor vehicle report from the Department of Public Safety. Applicants hired must maintain an acceptable driving record and complete a two hour defensive driving class.

activities sponsored by the Division. All supervisors must acquire CPR certification prior to beginning employment.
