Climbing Wall

The Climbing Wall is located inside Gregory Gym and features 2,600 square feet of climbing space. Current UT students and RecSports members are eligible to purchase a day pass or monthly pass to the Climbing Wall. Non-members can purchase a one-day Climbing Wall pass but must also purchase a day pass to access Gregory Gym.

Participants must be at least 15 years old to climb; if under 18, a parent must be present.

Indoor Rock Climbing Classes

  • Registration for indoor rock climbing classes is open to all UT students and RecSports members.
  • All classes take place at the Climbing Wall located inside Gregory Gym.

Intro to Bouldering
  • Dates: 
    • Class A: Feb. 19 and 21
    • Class B: March 26 and 28
  • Times: 9pm-11pm
  • Registration fee: $40
  • Location: Gregory Gym Climbing Wall

This class introduces new climbers to the movement, physiology, and dynamics of bouldering (climbing without a rope). Participants will also learn terminology, safe practices, and movement skills, which will help them advance as independent climbers. The course will focus on effective movement, climbing gym etiquette, and safe climbing practices. Instructed by members of the Climbing Wall staff, the class introduces beginners to bouldering in a safe and interactive environment while fostering camaraderie among the Gregory Gym climbing community. No prerequisites to register.

Cancellation Information

Cancellations must be completed by 5pm on Feb. 12 for Class A, and March 19 for Class B. No refunds will be given after this date. Refunds will be issued, minus a $10 administrative fee for those participants who cancel by the cancellation date.


Group Programs and Wall Rental

Bring your student organization or group to the Climbing Wall for a private event! 

  • Fee: $80 per hour. 
  • Groups are limited to 15 participants per hour.
  • Fees include gear and instruction. 

To schedule your private event, complete the Climbing Wall Special Event Request Form at least two weeks in advance.
