recsports Scholarships

Students doing hook em horns hand signal at graduationThe Division of Recreational Sports provides unlimited opportunities for those interested in creating new scholarships or adding to the value of current endowed scholarships. Supporters are welcome to create scholarships based on their own interests, or can contribute toward scholarship drives already under way.

Why donate to a RecSports Scholarship Fund?

Over 1,000 students are employed each year by RecSports, which offers approximately 40 part-time positions ranging from facility management to outdoor guides. Student employees manage the daily operations of the facilities, teach group exercise classes, officiate intramural contests and provide exceptional customer service to patrons. While many students pursue employment with RecSports for its convenience and flexibility, they soon realize that the Division provides more than a student-friendly and flexible work environment. These jobs provide students with the potential to manage their peers and work on a team-centered staff. Students also receive valuable employment training and experience in time-management, supervision, communication, and conflict resolution. As RecSports employees, students also actively serve the community, work collaboratively with their peers and demonstrate responsibility.
