Since 1980, students have supported Recreational Sports by passing referendums and approving student fees dedicated to building and maintaining quality facilities. Today's Longhorns are fortunate to benefit from the passion and persistence of students who preceded them. Although future generations of Longhorns will assist in maintaining some of the facilities, further assistance will be needed to maintain, renovate, and build others. By supporting a specific special project, you can contribute to the preservation of recreation facilities such as Gregory Gym, the Recreational Sports Center, Clark Field and the Whitaker Fields and Tennis Complex.
In 2005, the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex opened, becoming the latest recreational facility available to the University of Texas at Austin community. This unique project completed the Gregory Gym Renovation, providing thousands of students, faculty and staff with a dymanic, one-of-a-kind facility in which to exercise, relax, and socialize. As Recreational Sports prepares for the future, the focus turns to putdoor facilities, including a complete renovation of Clark Field, Whitaker Fields and Tennis Complex, and a potential Outdoor Leadership Development Center. We invite you to read more about each of these special projects and how you can become a part of building a new chapter in RecSports history.
