Playoff Information
-Regular season games are scheduled to end on Sunday, April 25th.
-Captains should review their league records and results to ensure they are accurate.
Playoff Captains Meeting Schedule
Tuesday, April 27th-GRE Games Room (GRE 3.120)
Noon-1:00pm--Coed B Gold, Coed B Silver, Coed C
1:00pm-2:00pm--Orange A, Orange B, White A, White B, Recreational
2:00pm-3:00pm--Greek Council, Graduate, Graduate Coed, Women
-No meeting will be held for Student Affairs
-Playoff qualifiers will be posted on the softball website as leagues complete regular season play
-Coed B Qualifiers will be placed into the Gold or Silver bracket by the IM Staff
-Skeleton playoff brackets will be posted on the softball website by 5pm Monday, 4/19
-Playoff games will begin on Wednesday, April 28th. Teams should prepare to play on this date.
-Most Championship games are scheduled for Thursday May 6th.
-Participants must have played (signed in on a scorecard) in at least one regular season game to be eligible for the playoffs.
-Playoff rosters will also be provided to team captains for review at this meeting.
-If you cannot attend please send a representative for your team.
-Teams will select their positions in the playoff bracket at this meeting. Any team not present to select will be placed in the bracket at the end of the meeting.
-Additional inclement weather will change this schedule, please check back here for the latest information.
*Passover/Easter Game Reschedule Process
Any team wishing to request a reschedule of a Passover or Easter Sunday game MUST COMPLETE the following procedure no later than 5pm on Thursday, 4/1/1.
The only available options are Thursday, 4/8/10 at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm or 9pm. (Limited number of fields at each time slot).
1.) The requesting captain must send an email to (intramural@utrecsports.org) including:
League Number (i.e. WB5, CC12, etc.),
Team names of requesting team AND opponent,
Top two choices for reschedule time (i.e. 1st choice 7pm, 2nd choice 8pm) |
| 2.) The Intramural Program will reply with contact information for the opponent. |
| 3.) BOTH teams must CONFIRM the reschedule via e-mail to (intramural@utrecsports.org). Confirmation e-mails should include the Subject Line "Passover/Easter IM Softball Reschedule Request" |
| 4.) A confirmation email will be sent to both team captains when the reschedule has been approved. |
| NOTE: All games will be played at their original date and time unless the above process is completed prior to the deadline. |
*The 2010 Rules and Information Packet (rules and other important information) is now available. Please ensure that everyone on your team knows the rules!
*UT Intramural Softball uses NIRSA and ASA Rules. For a list of NON-APPROVED bats, please see this link. None of the listed unapproved bats will be allowed for Intramural Softball.
*Regular season begins on Monday, March 22nd.
*All games are played at Whitaker Fields (WHI).
* Online roster submission system for all IM Team Sports- It is available online after you have registered and paid for your team. Information and detailed instructions can be found at our Online Submission webpage.
When does my team play?
*Once a week for 5 weeks on the day and time for which you registered.
*Each team will have one "bye" week off - typically the week corresponding with the numbered slot in which you registered. (Bye week subject to change--Team captains must review their final schedule after the registration period ends).
*Divisions of play offered are Orange, White, Recreational, Greek Council Fraternity, Graduate, Coed, Graduate Coed and Women's.
Coed Division Information
*Participants may play for ONE coed team only. Choose skill level A, B or C.
*A regulation Coed A, B or C team typically consists of 5 males and 5 females.
*
Graduate Coed teams typically consists of 6 males and 4 females and must be comprised of graduate/law school students and faculty/staff Recsports members ONLY. Undergraduates are NOT eligible for this division. Modified rules apply.
Recreational Division (New for 2010)– Any student, faculty or staff RecSports members, and eligible spouse RecSports members. A player may play on one total Recreational Division team. This division is intended for novice participants only. Therefore, participants choosing this division may NOT participate on another Orange, White, Greek Council or Graduate team. Regular softball rules without coed modifications will apply.
New for 2010 --Playoff qualifiers shall be determined as follows:

Top 3 qualifiers in each league (and any team with at least three wins) |
| "B" Skill Level |
Top 2 qualifiers in each league (and any team with at least three wins) |
| "C" or Rec Skill Level |
One qualifier per league |
All other divisions without a skill level designation(ie, Greek Council) will qualify two teams per league and any team with at least three wins.
TEAM CAPTAINS RESPONSIBILITIES
*Team captains are responsible for verifying that the full names and valid EIDs of all participants appear on the team roster and scorecards. Any name appearing on the scorecard may be counted as a participant in that contest. Team captains are responsible for signing each scorecard to confirm its accuracy.
*Team captains are responsible for the sportsmanship policy located in the rules packet and should be aware that poor sportsmanship may jeopardize future participation for their team.
*Team captains are responsible for maintaining contact with the Recreational Sports Office through the RecSports website with regard to registrations, schedules, results, playoffs, and reschedules. Captains are required to provide a valid email address as part of the registration process and agree to monitor that address on a regular basis during the competition season for which they registered. The Intramural Staff may communicate important information to all teams via email. Schedule information will not be provided over the phone.
