All RecSports facilities require a photo ID for entry. A scannable photo ID will be issued to all non-UT members during initial purchase.
UT students, faculty and staff should utilize their bar coded UT ID card.
Associates who are ineligible for the UT ID card, including spouses, children, sponsored associates, special status members, etc., are required to visit Gregory Gym to receive a new RecSports Photo ID card and EID.

RecSports began issuing the RecSports ID Card with Photo on 5/2/2005. It replaces the discontinued laminated card.
This card is intended for members who are not eligible for a UT ID card.

Problem: Do I have to come in person to get my ID card?
Solution: Yes. RecSports will be assigning you a medium assurance electronic ID (EID) in addition to your ID card. Please bring some sort of government issued photo ID. If you are being sponsored, your sponsor will have to appear with you to agree to continue sponsoring you.
Problem: My RecSports ID card will not scan.
Solution: Please visit the Memberships and Guest Services office in GRE 2.200 (hours).
Problem: My RecSports ID card was lost or stolen.
Solution: Please visit our Memberships and Guest Services office in GRE 2.200 (hours) to have your card de-activated. Replacement cards cost $15 and are available in the Memberships and Guest Services office in GRE 2.200 (hours).
Problem: I cannot access my UT Direct account using my EID.
Solution: Online account access to your RecSports purchases on UT Direct is coming soon. Our current online store does not require an EID login, although you will be asked for your EID.
Problem: I need help with my EID login or password.
Solution: If you cannot remember your EID login, please look on your RecSports Photo ID Card. Your EID is printed below your name. If you cannot remember your EID password, please proceed to this page for help. Here are several links that may help you with common problems:
Problem: My RecSports ID card is damaged.
Solution: Damage caused by excessive wear (cutting your card, defacing it, or altering it in any way) will require a replacement card at the cost of $15. Your card will be replaced at no cost if the damage is caused by normal wear.

Problem: My UT ID card will not scan.
Solution: There are several reasons a UT ID will not scan:
- If you are not a currently enrolled UT Austin student, you cannot use the facilities without purchasing an Interim Student Membership. Students not taking classes in the summer may purchase an "Interim Student" membership in GRE 2.200.
- If you are a faculty or staff member, you must purchase a membership to use RecSports facilities. If your membership is not showing up when scanned, please see our Memberships and Guest Services office in GRE 2.200 (hours) to have your purchases re-uploaded to your UT ID.
- Only your most recent UT ID card will scan successfully. If you lost your original UT ID, had another made at the UT ID Center, then found your old card, the old card is no longer linked to your University profile. You should use the most recent card issued to you. If you wish to use an old card, please visit the UT ID center.
- Any time you get a new UT ID, you must visit the RecSports Memberships and Guest Services office in GRE 2.200 (hours) to have your past purchases attached to your new ID card.
