Each semester that a student is enrolled, part of tuition is allocated to Recreational Sports to fund the facilities. Students gain access to recreational facilities by presenting their current UT ID card. Consistent with university policy, typically, students have access beginning the first day of classes through the day before classes begin for the following semester. Interim Student passes are available for purchase by students who are not taking classes during the summer. A student UT ID is required.

I am enrolled as a student and have a friend or family member who wants to join, what are the options?

Each semester a student is enrolled, the student may sponsor 1 other adult for a membership to RecSports.  These need to be individuals you know well as you are responsible for their access to the facilities.  Initial membership requires a visit by both the enrolled student and the individual who they wish to sponsor, to our office.  Read all the details about sponsoring others.

If I am employed at UT, do I automatically get to use recreation facilities?

No, Recreational Sports facilities and programs are funded each semester by the enrolled students. Faculty and staff are eligible to purchase memberships at a rate indexed to student tuition.
