Guest Passes (one day use)
RecSports Members sponsoring guests
The following RecSports members are eligible to sponsor guests:
- Currently Enrolled Students
- Faculty/Staff Members
- Retired Faculty/Staff Members
- Interim Students
- Texas Exes Members
- Community Members
The guest pass fee for individuals age 16 and older is $10 per day. The fee for individuals who are 15 and under is $5 per day.
Guest passes entitle non-RecSports members to access all UT recreation facilities on the day the pass is valid. Guest passes may be sold without a specified date however passes are non-transferable and non-refundable. The eligible sponsor must be present and "sponsor" the guest as the guest enters the facility. Both the guest and the sponsor must present a photo ID when entering the facility.
Self-sponsoring for a guest pass
The following individuals are eligible to self-sponsor and purchase a guest pass for facility access. Individuals who self sponsor may also sponsor guests on the day of self sponsorship.
- Faculty/Staff with a UT ID
- Current members of the Texas Exes with a current Texas Exes membership card.
- Texas Parents Contributing Members
NOTE: Individuals with expired RecSports ID cards are NOT eligible to self sponsor for a guest pass.
Guest passes are sold at Gregory Gym in the Gym Store. Guest passes are available for purchase, in person, at Gregory Gym, the RSC and Whitaker Tennis Courts. Credit card is required.
Short Term Passes
Individuals who would like the option of longer access without a membership may join short term. These passes are ONLY available in GRE 2.200 during business hours and require a waiver to be filled out - we then keep it on file.
*All Short Term Passes are non-refundable*
Fees for guests age 16* and older:
$10 per day
$58 per calendar month
Fees for guests age 15 and under
$5 per day
$11 per calendar month
*must provide state issued photo ID to verify age
Age Requirements (regardless of status)
Children - age 15 and under
- The member parent or adult guardian must remain in the immediate activity area to supervise children at all times.
- Children must be 14 to use the weight and conditioning equipment.
- Children must be 10 to use the handball, racquetball or squash courts.
- Children are not eligible to use the Climbing Wall.
- Informal recreation activities are available on a first-come, first-served basis with shared-usage rules applying when necessary.

Guests/Members - Age 16 and Older
- Proof of age iis required, if requested.

Departmental Visitors to Campus
RecSports facilities are available for the use of guests and visitors to campus, including:
- Part-time summer employees
- Candidates interviewing for a job
- Guest speakers
- Prospective students/faculty/staff and families
- Conference attendees
- Summer camp participants
- and many more
All RecSports participants - including students and faculty/staff - pay a usage fee to enjoy recreational facility privileges. Consistent with this practice, guests and visitors to campus are charged for usage.
*These passes are non-refundable and allow individuals to enjoy all recreation facilities for informal recreation - short term pass holders may not participate in intramurals*

Payment Options:
Sponsoring departments have the option of paying for all participants via an IDT or by submitting a roster of all attendees and allowing individuals to purchase a membership. Memberships may be purchased at Gregory Gym 2.200, weekdays from 8:00am -5:00pm.
Application for Use of Facilities:
All departmental requests for sponsoring individuals must be submitted in writing at least two weeks in advance of the event, if possible. The dates of the campus visit and name of the program/department should be included in this request. The request must be signed by the chairperson, director or dean of the sponsoring department and submitted to the Membership Services Office in Gregory Gym 2.200.
Notification of Request:
The sponsoring department will be notified through e-mail regarding the status of the request. The notification will include the cost associated with the use of the facilities. Departments are encouraged to let participants know the cost of membership in advance. The Membership Services Office will provide facility hours and maps to each participant when they register. |
