The Fall 2012 Guide School is designated for individuals interested in acquiring river guiding and backpacking outdoor leadership skills. Our emphasis is on judgement & decision making, communication, trip planning & preparation, risk management, group dynamics, and expedition behavior. This outdoor leadership training program will be physically intense, mentally challenging and provide participants a solid foundation of both experience and certifications to begin a career as outdoor guides. Participants who successfully complete the Guide School curriculum will be eligible to apply for employment with the UT RecSports Adventure Trip Program.
