The UT RecSports Wilderness Leadership Program is collaborating with the Wilderness Medical Associates (WMA) to provide high quality, challenging and intensive wilderness medicine training courses. Developed by a faculty committee of medical professionals, the WMA curriculum has the most up-to-date and relevant content on the market, period.

These courses will teach students to think critically and see beyond the checklist; so they can anticipate and prevent emergencies. Be prepared for the stress of an actual emergency with our hands-on training that balances theory with experiential learning.

The lead instructor for all our courses is Austin's own Bill Hanson, a STAR Flight Paramedic and 20-year veteran in the field of wilderness medicine.
