How much does it cost?
Poker Walk is a FREE EVENT put on by the Division of Recreational Sports to celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day. Join the crowd, walk for fun, and enjoy prize giveaways! Lunch is available if you choose to purchase it at the event. Otherwise, bring your own and enjoy the program!
What are my lunch options? NEW!
Lunch will be provided by Potbelly's catering. Lunch includes a sandwich, two sides (chips, fruit, cookie), bottled water and condiments. Sandwich choices will be ham and swiss, oven roasted turkey and swiss, or vegetarian which consists of swiss, provolone, cheddar cheese and mushrooms. While we cannot guarantee your selection, your input allows us to better approximate the quantity of each type of lunch to have on hand at the event.
Is registration required and how do I register?
YES. Registration is required on or before the Monday of the week of the event. Registration is easy! You may register online at www.utrecsports.org/pokerwalk. When registering, don't forget to specify your t-shirt size and lunch preference if you plan on purchasing a lunch. Teams and individual participants must be registered by 10am on Tuesday, 5/8 to be eligible for the prize drawing and best team name contest.
(Please note: t-shirt sizes and lunches are distributed on a first come-first served basis.)
Who can participate in the RecSports Poker Walk?
All current and retired UT faculty and staff are invited to participate!
Can I walk alone, or do I have to be on a team?
You choose! Many people register and walk as individuals...and others form teams. Teams consist of 4-10 people and can qualify for prizes..."Best Team Name," "Best Team Costume," and more! Also, we have "Team Photos" at the event so you can cherish your Poker Walk experience for years to come! Feel free to get creative with your costumes...we are amazed every year by what people come up with!
What are the prizes?
Click on the "prizes" link on the left to see the prizes for best hands. In addition to best hand awards, team and individual prizes will awarded by random drawing.
What does the walking course consist of?
See web site for a detailed (and downloadable) map of the course. Advice: All walkers should have started the course by 12:00pm to be qualified for prizes.

Participants: Email pw@utrecsports.org for the following situations:
- If you want to add others to your team and have already registered.
- If you need to change the name of your team, t-shirt size, or lunch preference.
- Any other registration questions, etc.
