The Sport Club program consists of 44 different student organizations that make up the University of Texas Sport Club Association (UTSCA). Each club offers students the opportunity to pursue a higher degree of participation with a group of individuals interested in the same level and type of activity.
The UTSCA promotes student participation in a wide variety of physical and athletic activities, contributes to the development of student leadership and provides a bond between individual clubs. Each club is formed, developed, governed and administered by the student membership of the club working in conjunction with the Sport Club office. While the Division of Recreational Sports assists in the development and growth of each club, the emphasis of the program is on student leadership and involvement. The existence of each sport club and the UTSCA is dependent upon student interest and participation.
Each club receives a small annual allocation from the Division of Recreational Sports to help offset the expenses of the club. However, this allocation, at most, funds 50% of the legitimate expenses for the club. The remainder of the expenses for uniforms, equipment, travel, etc. must be subsidized through membership dues, team fundraisers and generous donations from others.
If you wish to contribute to a specific sport club you can do so online through the UT Online Giving website. At the bottom of section 1, where it asks for "special information about your gift" please place the name of the specific club for which the gift is to be given, including "Men's" or "Women's" for those clubs that are gender specific. Please visit the Club Directory if you have any questions on the name of the club. If you wish for your gift to benefit all students involved in the UTSCA please write "UTSCA" in that section of the form.
