Benefits from participating in Pilates Reformer training are improved strength, coordination, flexibility, balance and stability. The Reformer provides smooth exercise resistance in both a non-weight bearing and weight-bearing environment.
RecSports offers Pilates Reformer Beginner and Intermediate Series and/or One-on-One Personal Training sessions with an instructor.
LanVy Avent has been practicing for over 28 years and has been teaching Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, and the Franklin Method for over 18 years. She develops custom Pilates & Yoga programs for each of her clients, drawing from all disciplines. She has taught in the United States, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.

Through this 6-week/12 session beginner series, participants will gain knowledge to improve safe body movement by strengthening their core through low impact resistance training. Participants will be introduced to the key Pilates principals of breathing and foot work, while working the core, spine, and back. They will also learn full body integration through stretching techniques.

This 6-week/12-session intermediate series builds on the structure of the beginner series with added levels of challenge. The focus will be on the relationship between the hips to the feet, in addition to the movement of the spine. Through leg work and a full body flow, participants will become more efficient in their body movements. They will also gain a better understanding of MINDBODY and BodyMind.
