Robert L. Dewar Endowed Scholarship
From the time Robert “Bobby” Dewar entered The University of Texas at Austin in 1951, he played intramural golf. He won the golf team championship for his fraternity, Delta Kappa Epsilon, and finished as a runner-up in doubles in 1951–52. Bobby still enjoys a good game of golf and is helping to ensure that today’s young Longhorns with a love of the game gain some financial reward to continue their studies on the Forty Acres. In December 2012, he established The Robert L. Dewar Endowed Scholarship with Recreational Sports.
Funds distributed from the endowment are used to award scholarships to undergraduates who participate in Recreational Sports golf events. Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
