Sand Volleyball

Announcements  
  • Play begins Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex.
  • Pool play is three weeks long. Teams will play once per week on the day and time for which they registered.
  • There are no “bye” weeks for this event.
  • Roster additions will be available when registration opens.

Divisions Offered​  
  • Coed A and B
  • Men's
  • Women's

Note: Participants may play for only one Men's or Women's team in this league, but not both. However, participants may play for one Men's/Women's team and one Coed team.

Additionally, University of Texas Club Volleyball players from last year and this year are not eligible for Coed B. There are no exceptions nor appeals to this policy for Spring 2024.

Playoff Qualifying Policies  
  • All teams who finish in the top 50% of their pool will be placed in a single elimination bracket.
  • Teams must meet the minimum requirements for sportsmanship, regardless of record or place.
  • Players must participate in at least one pool play game to be eligible for elimination play.  
  • Teams must show up and play all scheduled pool play games to be eligible for the playoffs. 
Eligibility Exceptions  
  • Scholarship athletes, letter winners, and squad members from any current UT Athletics team are limited to one per team.   
  • Current and former volleyball players from any college or university are not eligible.   
  • University of Texas Club Volleyball members (players and coaches) are limited to two per team and must play in the highest division. This includes all members listed on the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 club rosters.  
Rules of Play  
  • Sand Volleyball is played 4-on-4. Coed matches require two males and two females.  
  • A minimum of 3 players is required to start a match.   
  • The maximum roster limit is 10.   
  • Intramural sand volleyball does not use a libero.   
  • Athletic apparel is required. 
  • Jewelry of any type is not permitted.
