After camping Friday night, we will launch early Saturday morning from the Port O’Connor dock and paddle through the coastal area where we will set up camp. This will be a physically challenging and rewarding trip that offers kayakers the unique opportunity to explore the beautiful mangroves and abundant wildlife from the unique perspective of your kayak.
The Matagorda Island Seashore and Wildlife Management Area consists of 56,688 acres of offshore barrier island and bayside marshes.
