Private Swim Lessons
Would you like to learn to swim but have a schedule that keeps you from participating in a scheduled group class? Set up times that work best for you! Private Swim Instruction is an excellent way to learn new skills or improve existing ones by working one-on-one with an instructor.
Registration for summer swim lessons are now open. Spots are limited.
General Information
- Lessons are available one-on-one (instructor/participant).
- Lessons are 30 minutes in length. Once you register and payment is received, we will pair you with an instructor. The pairing process can take up to two weeks. The instructor will then contact you via email to coordinate dates and times for lessons.
- All lessons must be completed by July 31, 2024.
- All lessons will take place at the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex (GREAQ). In case of inclement weather, lessons may be rescheduled or moved to the indoor pool. Your instructor will inform you of any changes.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own towels and goggles. Towel Service is also available at the Gregory Gym front desk.
Eligibility
- Participants must be currently enrolled UT students, students with a Student Summer Membership, or RecSports members.
- Youth participants must be at least 6 months old. The youth member and the parent/guardian must have a RecSports membership to participate in private swim instruction.

How to Register
- Purchase a RecSports membership if you do not have one already. Students not enrolled in summer classes must purchase a Student Summer Membership to be eligible to enroll in summer swim classes.
- Complete registration for your desired number of lessons and submit payment. Register here.
- You will receive payment confirmation and information about the next steps for your lessons in an email.
- Your instructor will reach out directly to coordinate lessons. Please note: It typically takes about two weeks from the day payment is received to be contacted by an instructor.
