Memberships

Do UT faculty and staff have access to RecSports facilities?

UT faculty and staff (current and retired) may purchase a RecSports membership to access RecSports facilities and purchase additional services and programs. More information, including pricing and payment methods, can be found here.

Are UT alumni and Austin community members eligible to purchase a RecSports membership?

Yes! We welcome UT alumni and community members to join RecSports to enjoy access to seven facilities and the option to purchase additional services and programs. More information can be found here.

Does RecSports offer youth memberships?

Yes, RecSports offers youth memberships for children ages 17 and under. Your child's membership will be tied to your membership account, but you must purchase and pay for their membership and items separately. Learn more about Youth Memberships here.

Is there an application fee to join RecSports? Do I have to sign a contract?

No, there is no application fee, and you are not locked into a contract. You will be responsible for a recurring payment on the 1st of each month for your membership and any additional items you purchase (such as locker rental, towel service, TeXercise and/or Climbing Wall pass). You may cancel your membership and items at any time, but take note of the cancellation deadlines that apply.  


Payments

What types of payments are accepted for memberships and other items? 

All transactions are processed securely through the RecSports Online Store using a credit or debit card. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are all accepted.

Will I be notified when my credit card is charged? 

No, but you can see your order history and billing activity by logging into your account on the RecSports Online Store with your UT EID and password.


Refunds and Cancellations

How do I cancel my recurring credit card payment?

How do I request a refund for items with a one-time payment?

Troubleshooting

What happens if the credit card I am using is lost or stolen? 

Once you receive your replacement card, log in to the RecSports Online Store with your UT EID and password. From the navigation menu, click on “My Account,” and then select “Your Credit Card on File.” You will be given the option to replace your credit card on file.

What happens if my card is declined?

You will receive an email notification. Please update your card on file on your RecSports Online Store account. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.

What if I cannot remember my UT EID (electronic ID) and/or password?

Your UT EID can be found under your name on your RecSports ID card. You may also find your UT EID online. To get assistance recovering your password, enter your UT EID here.
