Private Tennis Lessons

Would you like to learn to play tennis but have a schedule that keeps you from participating in a scheduled group class? Set up times that work best for you! Private Tennis Instruction is an excellent way to learn new skills or improve existing ones by working one-on-one with an instructor.

Register

General Information

  • Lessons are available one-on-one (instructor/participant).
  • Lessons are 30 minutes in length. Once you register and payment is received, we will pair you with an instructor. The pairing process can take up to two weeks. The instructor will then contact you via email to coordinate dates and times for lessons.
  • All lessons must be completed by April 19, 2024.
  • All lessons will take place at Whitaker Courts. Instructors will coordinate all court reservations for participants. In case of inclement weather, lessons will be rescheduled. 
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own racket and wear closed-toe shoes.

Eligibility

  • Participants must be currently enrolled UT students or RecSports members.
  • Youth participants must be at least 10 years old. The youth member and the parent/guardian must have a RecSports membership to participate in private tennis instruction.

How to Register

  1. Purchase a RecSports membership if you do not have one already. 
  2. Complete registration for your desired number of lessons and submit payment. Register here.
  3. You will receive payment confirmation and information about the next steps for your lessons in an email.
  4. Your instructor will reach out directly to coordinate lessons. Please note: It typically takes about two weeks from the day payment is received to be contacted by an instructor.
