August 24, 2008:
Each year the Campus Environmental Center, an agency of Student Government, welcomes everyone back to school with the Trash to Treasure Campus-Wide Garage Sale, presented by the University Co-op. The sale will take place on Sunday, August 24 from 8am-4pm at the UT Rec Sports Center. There will be a basketball court full of stuff, including clothing, electronics, kitchenware, bedding, sporting goods, school supplies, decor, and over 100 pieces of furniture! All funds raised support student-run environmental initiatives at UT, like recycling and energy conservation. Trash to Treasure is supported by the University Co-op, Freescale Semiconductor, Penske Truck Rental, Michener Self Storage, Avis Downtown Austin and Door to Door Storage. May 7, 2008: RecSports Poker Walk
The Poker Walk is a fun-filled event designed to celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day. Walk a 1-mile course and gather poker chips at 5 stations along the course. Turn in your chips in the GRE Arena to be dealt your hand. Depending on your poker hand, you may win some great prizes.
May 9, 2008: Equipment Sale
Save money on many of your outdoor and fitness equipment needs at this two-hour Equipment Sale to be held on Friday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gregory Gym Annex Court #4. Items will include used equipment from the Outdoor Recreation and Fitness/Wellness Programs. This popular event has a huge following so get there early for the best bargains!
April 30, 2008: Splash Bash 2008
Celebrate the end of the year and get a break from the books at the beautiful Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex on Wednesday, April 30 from 1-5 p.m. Open to all currently enrolled UT students and RecSports members. Enjoy free hot dogs and burgers, ice cream, a complimentary chair massage, games, free name brand shorts and swimwear (while supplies last), a photo with your friends in the free photo booth and LIVE MUSIC, starting at 1 p.m. Scheduled to play are Ryan Harkrider & The Nightowls, the Spirit of Space and The Pajamas. DJ TX Skoolboi will keep the music going in between sets. Be there!
