Feb. 27-March 2, 2012: Love Your Body Week
Let RecSports raise your awareness about all the incredible things that your body can do by participating in Love Your Body Week activities, including free access to group exercise classes listed below.

Jan.17–23, 2012: Try Before You Buy
Currently enrolled UT students and RecSports members are invited to Try Before You Buy. Simply bring your UT ID to try out the Climbing Wall in Gregory Gym and any group exercise class, including TeXercise, Group Cycling and Aqua classes, during this complimentary trial period. To access the fitness classes, participants must request a laminated pass from the ID scanner at the entrance to the facility and give this pass to the instructor at the entrance of the class. Classes fill quickly during peak times. If you have questions, please send your e-mail to info@utrecsports.org.

Fall 2011 Events

Oct. 26 & 27, 2011: Spring Job Fair
Need a part-time job for spring?  Come to the RecSports Job Fair to be held Oct. 26 & 27 from 11am to 5pm in the Gregory Gym Concourse. You can apply and interview on-the-spot for all types of positions. Some jobs require experience, others just a willingness to learn and a friendly attitude. The job application packet is available online for those who wish to come prepared with completed paperwork.

Aug. 24–30, 2011: Try Before You Buy
Currently enrolled UT students and RecSports members are invited to Try Before You Buy. Aug. 31, 2011: Party on the Plaza
Enjoy games, contests, food and much more at the annual Party on the Plaza, to be held on the Gregory Gym Plaza. Most activities are free and others require a small fee. All proceeds will benefit the UT Student Emergency Fund. Check out the Party on the Plaza Web site for complete details.

 

Summer 2011 Events

June 2-5, 2011: Free Preview
Enjoy free access to all group exercise classes - including TeXercise, Group Cycling, Aqua and PRC classes -  the Climbing Wall and free entry to all RecSports facilities. Current UT ID is required.

 

Spring 2011 Events

May 11, 2011: Poker Walk
All UT faculty, staff and retired faculty and staff are invited to celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day at the 20th annual RecSports Poker Walk. Participants will walk a one-mile course gathering poker chips along the way. The course ends inside the Gregory Gym Arena where participants will turn in their chips for a chance to win prizes, including the grand prize for Best Hand. May 4, 2011: Splash Bash
RecSports invites all currently enrolled UT students to Splash Bash to celebrate the end of the academic year and to enjoy a well-deserved study break. Time TBD. Free snacks will be provided poolside at the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex. More details to come.

March 30 & 31, 2011: Job Fair
RecSports will be hiring for fall 2011 at the upcoming RecSports Job Fair. All types of part-time positions for students will be available. Some jobs require experience, others just a friendly attitude. Interviews will take place on-the-spot between 11am-5pm at the Gregory Gym Concourse. Bring a completed application, available here.

March 5, 2011: Visit Gregory Gym During Explore UT
RecSports will host an open house at Gregory Gym and offer free access to the Climbing Wall during Explore UT. Time TBD. Please check back for details as the date approaches.

Feb. 23, 2011: National Recreational Sports & Fitness Day
Join the fun as RecSports celebrates this national day with a series of free activities. All events will be held in Gregory Gym and are open to currently enrolled UT students and UT faculty and staff members. UT ID is required for admittance.

Let University Health Services and RecSports raise your awareness about all the incredible things that your body can do by participating in Love Your Body Week activities. Learn about the dangers of eating disorders and the need for better prevention efforts, as well as early detection and prevention. Event details are also posted on the UHS Web site.

Feb. 21-25 Life-sized Barbie demo about unrealistic body shapes and sizes GRE Plaza
Feb. 22, 9:30-10:30pm Free Zumba class (Limited to 40 participants. Must be UT student or RecSports member.) GRE South Studio
Feb. 23 Free TeXercise and Group Cycling classes. UT ID required for admission.  
Feb. 23, 5pm Free screening of film, America the Beautiful, followed by a panel of experts (7pm) who will answer your questions Texas Union Theater
